Desktop Management Services

Author: Ken Marlborough

There are some relatively new desktop management services that make desktop applications and design tools more advanced and easier to use. Some include the Microsoft, Small Business Server (SBS) that has upgraded the current eight-year old platform. It is at priced at $599 for the standard edition that includes Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003, along with five client access licenses. A Premium Edition is available for $1,500 and adds SQL Server 2005, Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004 and FrontPage 2003.

The All Security Forums RSS Feed allows small and midsized companies the benefits of full desktop management services without having to have a full-time staff. It is a web-based service and the hardware and software are easy to install and maintain. It is offered by Everdream Corporation, a manufacturer of a full range of desktop management services through a cost-effective Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) model. Everdream offers on-demand software and managed services through a simple Internet connection, making mobile and remote devices easy to manage.

Administrations who use Macs rely on Apple Remote Desktop for the most part and have for the past four years. They know that it monitors and controls Mac workstations and servers. However, besides remote management, troubleshooting and surveillance, the Apple Remote Desktop is an inventory aid and solution system. It can revamp classroom and computer lab interactions between teachers and students and offers remote collaboration and presentation options that are able to deploy applications and updates and files. It can also deploy a new network of Macs simply and more efficiently.

For further information about desktop management services check PC or Mac specific programs on the Internet.
