Bridal Shower Recipes: From Teatime To Party Time Foods

Author: Gail Leino

The theme of a bridal shower can be almost anything. Afternoon teas have gained in popularity, while the regular afternoon and evening party is still a big hit. So, when it comes to bridal shower recipes, you can create refreshments to fit your style and the theme of your party.

Here are some simple bridal shower recipes for that afternoon tea:

Watercress Sandwiches
Ingredients: Watercress
Salt
Pepper
Vinegar
Cottage Cheese
Thin Sliced Bread

Wash watercress and chop
Sprinkle with salt, pepper and vinegar
Blend with cottage cheese
Spread between two slices of thin bread
Cut off crust and cut sandwich into 4 triangles
Serve

Baked Brie With Strawberry Glaze

Ingredients: Whole Brie Cheese With Rind
3 Tablespoons Strawberry Preserves
2 Teaspoons Balsamic Vinegar
Cup Sliced Strawberries
1 Tablespoons Sliced Almonds
Crackers

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Place the brie in a shallow baking dish and bake 10 minutes (until soft, but not runny)
While brie is baking, heat the strawberry preserves and vinegar until it becomes thick and bubbling.
Take the brie from the oven, place on a serving dish
Arrange the strawberries around the brie and drizzle everything with the heated mixture
Sprinkle with almonds
Serve with crackers

Tea Punch

Ingredients:
Pint Strong Ceylon Tea
6 Ounces Sugar
Pint Orange Squash
4 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2 Small Bottles Ginger Ale
1 Large Bottle Lemonade
1 Sliced Orange

Put the hot tea in a punch bowl
Add sugar and stir until dissolved
Add orange squash and lemon juice; strain
Chill
Before serving, mix in the ginger ale, lemonade and sliced orange

When having a tea for your bridal shower, your bridal shower menu can be mainly simple finger foods. Having a large fruit and cheese tray, a vegetable and dip tray, and a tray of bakery cookies and scones can make for a delicious buffet.
