Hurricanes and Leadership Issues

Author: Lance Winslow

During the most extreme stress and trying times we often find true leaders. During that time of need when things look hopeless we often find natural leaders and there seems to be a gene for it and in any group of 20 people you will generally find 3 or 4 in the United States Population.

Usually they are men, but do not kid yourself there are a lot of women leaders in our population as well, some real class acts and tough cookies who will not break down under pressure.

Hurricanes and Leadership go hand in hand and it makes sense to take stock in your neighborhood and figure out who is who so when all hell breaks loose you know who to call to figure out a plan to get your neighborhood thru the crisis at hand. You must not rely on the government or simply assume they will take care of you and your family and your neighborhood.

In fact in most communities after 75-90 mph winds they will not go out as they might be blown over and never come back and then who is going to rescue the rescuers, you see the problems and it gets progressively worse in Hurricanes with downed trees, power poles and flying debris.

Not to mention storm surges and the deluge of rain, which follows. Hurricanes and Leadership Issues are important and it is critical that you find out in advance who those leaders in your neighborhood are, because you just might need them. Consider this in 2006.
